Terrain Mapping for South Gujarat : A GIS based Solution for Geo-Community

Abstract

Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are crucial to every field especially for natural resource, land assessment and management. Geo-scientists and geo-community are always concerned about terrain related issues and challenges and continuously put efforts to provide geo-spatial solutions to agriculture and terrain conditions for improving the growth of agricultural yield and resolving the issues of food, fodder and feed.. The authors propose a GIS as a solution to predict geo-spatial variability of terrain attributes for the region of south Gujarat. Thus, this paper discusses the components of the GIS designed and developed along with its data processing issues.
